Why "Net Annual Value" Matters
The best rewards card for a heavy diner is different from the best card for a frequent traveler. This tool subtracts the effective annual fee (after common statement credits) from your estimated rewards earned — giving you a true net picture rather than headline multipliers.
How Point Values Are Calculated
Chase Ultimate Rewards and Amex Membership Rewards points are valued at 1.5¢ each — a conservative estimate for transfer partner redemptions. Capital One miles at 1.7¢. Cash-back cards at face value. Actual point values depend on how you redeem. Spending caps (e.g., Amex Gold 4x groceries capped at $25k/yr) may reduce top-line estimates for very high spenders.
